FAQs

When is the best time to start swimming lessons?

There is no better time to start swimming than right now! SWIMZ Bendigo has a variety of levels to specifically cater for your baby/toddler or child’s needs. (Babies are able to start from 4 months of age)

Are your instructors qualified?

Yes they are. All instructors have completed either an AustSwim or Swim Australia qualification. Many have also completed further specialist qualifications including toddler classes, special needs classes, adult classes and competitive stroke coaching.

How long are lessons?

All of our group classes for both Learn to Swim and Adult Classes are 30 minutes in length.

1:1 lessons are 20 minutes in length.

How do I book in?

We take new swimmers at any time throughout the year, subject to availability. The first step is to book a free assessment, so that we are able to find the most appropriate level within our program, for your child. If you are looking to enrol your baby, from 4 months to 3 years old, no assessment is required.

My child missed a class. Can they have a make up lesson?

We offer unlimited make up classes! As long as you advise us of your inability to attend (up to 2 hours before the class), you’re currently booked into permanent lessons and your fees are up to date, your make up lesson will be accrued.

You have 3 months to use a make up lesson.

When will my child go up a level, and how long does it take?

Students are continuously assessed at SWIMZ Bendigo and progress at their own pace. There is no set time for a child to be at a certain level, once they are proficient in all aspects of a level they will move up. It is important to note, that every child is unique, learning different skills at different rates.

Should you have any queries or concerns regarding your child’s progression, please feel free to discuss it with the Senior Teacher on duty.

How often should my child come to swimming lessons?

Coming to swimming lessons once a week, on a year round basis, is great for swimmer progression. Swimming every week will see your child really develop and get the most out of their swimming lessons.
